better together

Foster Wales Anglesey is committed to providing support in the community, whether it’s for children in our care, their foster families, or the professionals who work with us day in, day out.

We’re able to offer this level of support because we’re a wider team of 22 not-for-profit organisations across Wales. We can share our expertise across the board to ensure our foster carers are more than competent.

what makes us different

Foster Wales is the nationwide network of 22 Welsh Local Authority fostering teams. We deliver the local help and support you need, together with the expertise of a wider, national team.

This local emphasis means we’re committed to Anglesey. Our priority is for children in our local area to stay in their communities and to remain connected to friends and family. Not all fostering agencies share this value.

We’ll always put people before profit. As a not-for-profit organisation, every single penny of public funding we receive is invested into our services and our teams to ensure we’re doing everything we can for the children in our care.

Ian, Foster Carer, Anglesey

To other men who are thinking of being a single foster carer, Ian says ‘go for it’.

“The journey doesn’t always start off easy and it can be difficult at times. But, if you continue to offer care and support, you could help these young people turn everything around and give them a good future.

Going to college or university, forming stable relationships, having children of their own and being happy with their lives are some of those things that I never imagined some of these young people would ever get to experience when I first met them.

It’s really rewarding to see the end result.”
